FAQ: Your Doctor's Role in DNA Testing

  • What is my doctor's role? We believe that your doctor wants to help you avoid serious health conditions and adverse drug reactions. You can be a major part of this process by finding out your level of risk and your ability to process common drugs. Matrix Genomics provides a personalized physician-ready test report that you can provide your doctor in order to develop a personalized medical plan.
  • Can I come to my doctor's office and get tested? We offer tests over the internet and at other venues, including some doctor's offices.
  • Can I have my report sent to my doctor? No. You can share a copy of your report with your doctor, if you choose to do so. But, remember, if the report becomes part of your medical record it will be accessible to insurance companies and others.
  • Can you refer me to a doctor who can advise me on the interpretation of this test? We are not referring clients to physicians at this time. We suggest you and your doctor review our website carefully and contact us with any questions you may have.
  • How can my doctor learn about your tests and their implications for his patients? We hope that your doctor will review our website and read the linked peer reviewed scientific papers. He is welcome to consult with us on the genetic tests and your results. As we grow, we plan to conduct a program of continuing education for medical professionals on genetic assessment.
